  3. SECONDARY CURVE WIDTH DETERMINATION

  5. If the lens is a tricurve lens, then the 
  6. width of at least one of the peripheral 
  7. curves must be given.  Typically the 
  8. 3rd curve width is specified.  For 
  9. example the TCW may be 0.2 mm wide.  
  10. If the OAD and OZD are known or given, 
  11. which they typically are, then the 
  12. width of the secondary can be 
  13. determined.  The SCW is equal to the 
  14. overall lens diameter (OAD) minus the 
  15. optical zone diameter (OZD) divided 
  16. by 2 minus the TCW.

  22. For example, if the OAD is 9.4 mm, OZD is 8.0 mm, TCW is 0.2 mm, the SCW would be 0.5 mm.
